With a little planning ahead on your part, and the efforts of St Mary’s SCRIP team in getting you the SCRIP you need in a timely manner, we’re CHALLENGING YOU to “get in gear for the Holidays” with SCRIP!
A few of the basics:
Scrip is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our organization.
How scrip generates revenue: The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non‑profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Our organization buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount ‑ from two to fifteen percent or more – is our organization’s revenue.
“In-stock” scrip is available weekdays at St Mary’s School and Lad & Lassie Style Salon. There’s a list on the reverse side of this note, and it may change periodically.
In addition to those retailers, there are literally hundreds more available – great giftables like I-Tunes, Williams-Sonoma, Build-a-Bear and Amazon.com, Cabelas and Gander Mountain, just to name a few.
ORDERING AHEAD!
You can fill out an order form, (including payment is appreciated but not necessary) and leave it with the SCRIP seller after Mass on the weekends, or drop at school. You may also contact our SCRIP coordinator to place orders. (see phone # & email below) Pick up orders either from school or after Mass in the Scrip seller’s box. Have your check in hand and it will only take a few minutes –ready to grab & go!
Larger orders: $500 or more of one retailer or a combination of several Please pre-pay when you place your order. you’re Building an entire deck or garage ~
