Using Scrip Tuition Credits
Just a reminder regarding the change in the Scrip Tuition Credit. Tuition credit from Scrip purchases for the 2010-2011 school year will be applied for every purchase of Scrip. Participating families next year will receive 3% tuition credit for the first $1000 and 3.5% for purchases over $1000. Scrip credit for the 2010-2011 school year runs from May 2010 through April 2011. Beginning in May all Scrip will be available in the St. Mary School office during school hours. It will also still be available at Lad and Lassie Hair Salon and after the weekend Masses.
The following example explains how Scrip can help with tuition:
A family of four could spend a hundred dollars at County Market for a week’s grocery. Over fifty-two weeks that would add up to $5200. Of that $5200, $1000 would be calculated at 3% which would be $30 and $4200 would be calculated at 3.5% which would be $147. The total amount of $177 would be credited to your tuition bill.
You have nothing to lose using Scrip only to gain. If you pay $50 for County Market scrip; you have $50 to spend at County Market. Simply by using gift certificates rather than cash to make your purchases, you can help pay your tuition and earn money for our school and parish.
